Atlanta Vision Research Community

A collaborative, multi-institutional network advancing vision science across Atlanta.

About Us

Atlanta Vision Research Community (AVRC) is a multi-institutional network of top vision research investigators in the greater Atlanta area.  This vibrant community of 150+ was formed nearly 20 years ago to maximize crosstalk and cross-fertilization of ideas and experimental designs between PIs, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduates, and research technicians doing vision research.  Regular interactions to foster collaborations and support trainees include the weekly Tuesday Morning Data Session or TMDS, monthly vision research seminar series, fall research retreats, and spring research mini-symposiums.

AVRC is supported by the NEI P30 award, Core for AcceleratiNg Vision Science in Atlanta InstitutionS (CANVAS), and the NEI T32 training grant, VIsion Science Training in Atlanta (VISTA).
